Commencement

Welcome to the inaugural post on Marsdenpiece Film Reviews. I want to take this time to thank all of you for stopping by and to tell you what you can expect from this blog. The title should say it all, film reviews. I am an aspiring film critic, and I wanted to create a venue for getting my voice out there and my opinions heard. While ideally this blog will get to the point where I might actually get to interview filmmakers and others involved in the film industry, at first this site will be primarily film reviews. Now, that does not mean I will only review the films coming out in theaters each week. I will review films new to DVD and smaller films you might've missed that are worth seeking out. There will be yearly Top Ten lists, Oscar picks, and my Best of the 2000s. There will undoubtedly be more than that as I will write about whatever I see fit to write about on a particular day. I may revisit an old favorite or even offer up a review of an episode I watched on TV last night, I may even stray into something completely off topic, for example, sports. There are no rules to which I must abide, just know that I am going to provide you with honest, in-depth, and thoughtful reviews, and not simple, fanboy praise for whatever movie I thought was "awesome."
